Treating In Remote Locations Series
GAHP is offering a continuing education series to train acupuncturists in skills that would be useful for treating individuals in medically underserved areas around the globe. The classes will be open to acupuncturists wanting to develop their skills in one or more of the topics presented. The training will include instruction in utilizing Chinese medicine to treat infectious diseases, trauma, and childhood/pediatric conditions. Participants who complete all three workshops may be invited to participate in a field trip to an overseas medically underserved area. The field trip currently scheduled for December 2008 will be in an underdeveloped area on the island of Bali, Indonesia. We are also making contacts with other sites in Africa and Central and South America.
