Village Community Outreach

Because most remote villagers are manual laborers, and the climate tends to be damp, especially during the rainy season, many villagers presented with rheumatic complaints, that is, chronic aches and pains in the muscles and bones. Other common conditions the practitioners treated included general fatigue, malnutrition, digestive and gastrointestinal tract disorders, dysentery, traumatic injuries (fractured bones, infections), hepatitis, tuberculosis, asthma and other respiratory disorders, skin disease, hypertension, diabetes, cerebral palsy and other sequellae of childhood febrile diseases.
