Yayasan Bumi Sehat
Yayasan Bumi Sehat, founded by Ibu Robin Lim, is a non-profit organization located in Nyuh Kuning, Ubud. It is primarily a family planning clinic providing free natural childbirth and postpartum health services to needy families throughout central Bali. The facility also houses a community acupuncture clinic which served as one of the primary sites for the GAHP team's outreach treatments.
The GAHP practitioner team delivered more than 1,400 treatments at the Bumi Sehat facility to the following patient populations:
Prenatal Care
The midwives at Bumi Sehat provide twice-weekly prenatal care and nutritional services to expectant mothers. The GAHP team treated these mothers for emotional balancing, as well as to relieve common pregnancy symptoms such as heartburn, nausea and vomiting, preeclampsia, and lower back and pelvic pain. Some mothers presented with a breech (mal-positioned fetus) presentation, a condition considered too risky for vaginal delivery by most obstetricians and midwives, particularly in the case of a first-born where a cesarean section is routinely performed.
